Direct marketing and your choices
Effective date: 18 September 2026
This page explains how Juchepi Group (Pty) Ltd approaches direct marketing and how you can object, unsubscribe or withdraw marketing consent. It should be read with our Privacy Notice and Privacy Requests page.
1. An enquiry is not marketing consent
Submitting a contact form, requesting information, asking for a quotation or communicating with Juchepi Group does not automatically mean that you consent to electronic direct marketing.
Where consent is required for unsolicited electronic direct marketing, Juchepi Group will request it separately. Consent must be voluntary and may be refused without preventing us from responding to an ordinary enquiry.
2. When electronic direct marketing may occur
Electronic direct marketing may be sent only where permitted by section 69 of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”), including where:
- the recipient has provided valid consent; or
- the recipient is an existing customer, the contact information was obtained in the context of a sale or service, the communication concerns Juchepi Group’s own similar products or services, and the required opportunity to object was provided.
Where POPIA permits Juchepi Group to approach a person once to request marketing consent, that request will identify Juchepi Group and will not be repeated if consent is refused or not given.
3. Standards for marketing communications
A qualifying direct-marketing communication from Juchepi Group will:
- identify Juchepi Group or the person on whose behalf it is sent;
- provide contact details or a practical method for requesting that communications cease;
- avoid disguising the sender or purpose;
- respect recorded objections and withdrawals; and
- not charge a fee for processing an unsubscribe or objection request.
4. How to unsubscribe or object
You may stop direct-marketing communications at any time by:
- using the unsubscribe or opt-out method included in the communication;
- emailing info@juchepigroup.com with the subject “Unsubscribe” or “Direct marketing objection”; or
- submitting a formal objection using the official POPIA Form 1 available on our Privacy Requests page, where appropriate.
Please identify the email address, telephone number or other contact detail to which the request relates. We may ask for limited information reasonably necessary to identify and action the request.
Unsubscribe and objection requests are processed free of charge and without unnecessary formality. A short administrative period may be required to update all relevant systems.
5. What happens after an opt-out
Juchepi Group may retain the minimum information needed on a suppression or objection list so that the preference continues to be respected. This record is used to prevent further marketing and is not used to continue marketing.
An opt-out from marketing does not prevent necessary non-marketing communications relating to an existing enquiry, contract, project, service, security issue, legal obligation or transaction.
6. Sources and sharing
Juchepi Group will not knowingly use unlawfully obtained contact lists. Where a service provider supports authorised marketing activity, it must process personal information only for the agreed purpose and subject to appropriate privacy and security obligations.
7. Complaints and contact
